Halloween 2020

Image
Samhain, the origins of Halloween 👻 There are many great stories to be told. One of them is Samhain, the Celtic pagan religious festival that welcomes in the harvest and ushers in the 'dark half of the year,' This year the Halloween Contest in our school has been a quite different...the COVID-19 pandemic is scary in itself! Our trick-or-treaters have done a great job at designing their Halloween work. There was, again, great interest in this activity and the students really put their heads together to make this event go viral! Congrats to all the participants! Here are some pictures of the winning Halloween material. Hope you like them! A taste of life at Hoya del Tajo

Image
A taste of life at Hoya del Tajo "Weather permitting, we will finally go on a trek on Wednesday!", Juan said. Ronda's rainy days can last forever, but the sun rose on a beautiful Autumn morning for ESO 2 students to trek around the Hoya del Tajo... Such a lovely and warm day for a perfect walk. But it was not only a walk, but also an educational trip for us... Milestone Contest Rubbish collection challenge ESO 2 students discovered the magic surrounding Ronda, such a wonderful city to walk around. It was direct contact with nature...including animal life. A great experience for our students, indeed. Just enjoy these last pictures to feel it!     So, guys and gals, don't forget that your town is a treasure that must be preserved. A taste of life at the Olive Mill

Image
A taste of life at the Olive Mill "Why don't we start off by tasting delicious 'molletes' with Arbequina olive oil?", Nacho suggested. And so it was... ESO 3 students having an appetising breakfast It was a perfect day for ESO 3A and 3B students to pay such a visit. Juan, our host at the Olive Mill in Ronda, helped us get the whole picture of the olive oil production in a modern olive oil press.             The visit was a real eye opener to all of us...Olive oil is a story of old, but known by few. How many varieties of olives? What are residues used for? What processes are needed to separate, clean and press the olives? Residues Energy Olive Oil The Golden Green some call it; a treasure well kept in ginormous containers... A memorable visit it was, but it drew to an end... A Midfall's Afternoon Dream A Midfall Afternoon’s Dream opens with ESO 1 students planning their trip dream, which takes place in Ronda's mountain range. It's a beautiful scenery waiting ahead, full of colourful trees to stare at and astonishing paths to tred... It's said that those feeling the pure and fresh air can easily become part of the surrounding nature. And also that little magical creatures dwell in the woods... It was a midfall's afternoon filled with adventure, workshops and experiences to share.         What a great time the students had! This Midfall's Afternoon Dream came true on November 6th, 2019.
